EARLY DAYS
In Twitter’s early days, I ranked as a “top tweeter” in the state of Maine. Due to this rank, the newsroom asked me to create and share a Twitter presentation.
The executive editor hesitated to encourage staff to use Twitter until he understood it better.
Go back to 1963. Rather than wait for important news to be published in print, people watched a newspaper’s main window. Announcements placed in the window were similar to early social media posts.
Shortly after my presentation, the executive editor made his first tweet. Click image for full presentation PDF.
