At the museum and at the performing arts center: use database of donors/potential donors, create mailing lists for our newsletters and appeal letters, send out thank you letters, create reports for the executive director, board, and bookkeeper.
Use MailChimp and Constant Contact to inform/update and keep the business in “top of mind awareness” with donors/community.
Write grants for capital campaign projects, general operating and program support. Great success rate. Since January 2022, I have raised $700,100 for capital projects with some pending determinations for $4.7 million more. I have raised $74,900 from grants and sponsorship for both general operating and program support. Plus, I have sent out appeals to repeat donors and sponsors.
Many fund raising activities for my current nonprofit employer (performing arts center) and as a volunteer for Woman’s Literary Union and L/A Arts (on the board for three years as Vice Chair). Some activities were “friend raisers” which were meant to raise awareness of the organizations and their missions and then to cultivate new relationships to lead to donations/sponsorships.
At the Sun Journal, as editor, I had a budget for the freelancer payments and always stayed within that budget.
I have public speaking experience. I gave a 1-1/2 hour presentation at a Chamber lunch all about Twitter, when that social media channel was new and businesses did not know how to use it to promote their services/products.
I love socializing and networking.
