Everyone has great ideas, but not everyone follows through and does what needs to be done. I am realistic when it comes to creating a new event. I currently am creating a two-day open house for the performing arts center. I solicited sponsors of the event so that I could cover the costs of performers since admission during the open house is free. I’ve managed to coordinate with other groups and businesses to have displays and engaging demonstrations over the two days. Plus, I collaborated with the local Chamber of Commerce to market our open house with the Chamber’s RiverFest event over those same two days and down the street from our venue. I expect this Open House will be a success.
I’ve also used spreadsheets to keep track of our venue rental inquiries. Our venue is rented for many types of events including weddings, comedy shows, concerts, dance, and theater! I learned the rates of the various add-ons to the venue rental rate.
